Royal Armouries Museum

The Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds is home to the national collection of  arms and armour. This world class museum contains exhibits from 3,000 years of history, including Henry VIII’s tournament armour. To help bring the past to life more vividly, there are dramatic live action events and colourful demonstrations of jousting, falconry and horsemanship.

The museum itself incorporates five themed galleries, two cinemas, a library, offices and workshops, as well as external areas for the horses and shows. Buro Happold provided all the structural and building services engineering for this challenging project, with sustainable construction and operation a vital consideration from the start.
