Dublin City Gallery

The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery houses one of Ireland's foremost modern art collections, including paintings by Renoir, Monet and Degas. More recently, the bequest of the Francis Bacon Reece Mews Studio has brought the gallery to international attention. Buro Happold worked on an exciting new extension to house temporary exhibits as well as a fixed exhibition of the works of Seán Scully.

Buro Happold has provided innovative and elegant engineering solutions to the culture and leisure industry across many different projects. The Hugh Lane follows our tradition of combining leading technology with fine styling. The building's lighting was extensively modelled by our Lighting Design group to blend the artificial lighting with daylight and lighting control strategies. Our ITAC group provided detailed design for the security systems, and the air conditioning is of the highest quality to meet insurance and loan requirements.
