Clarence Dock

Transforming the Clarence Dock area of Leeds into a thriving waterside community and premier tourist destination is a significant and exciting project. This mixed use development lies on a 15 acre brownfield site next to the River Aire and close to Leeds city centre.

The development provides 1,000 luxury apartments, 30,500m2 of commercial office space and over 150,000m2 of leisure, exhibition and retail amenities with associated parking facilities. Among the buildings within the developments are a hotel, casino, residential and office towers.

Buro Happold wasappointed to work on a variety of residential and retail towers, one of which is 20 storeys high, a six storey office building, casino and retail units. In addition, we designed a footbridge across the River Aire and two moveable bascule bridges in the dock area nearby.
