With some buildings as high as 23 storeys, this mixed use urban regeneration project on the east side of Birmingham City Centre will comprise residential areas, offices space, and arts and leisure facilities. It also creates a new covered retail gateway, linking existing areas.
Major infrastructure works are required on the site, including the diversion and abandonment of several major public sewers and the construction of a double basement adjacent to a railway. Buro Happold will use 3D modelling techniques to integrate the basement into the structure above, providing a car park and service yard.
