Originally hailing from Perth, Western Australia, Andrew Best settled in the UK in 1991, joining Buro Happold ten years ago. Based in the practice’s London office, Andrew is Group Director for Structures.

Andrew’s work is spread across a wide range of countries and sectors, and he works to see that the building structure enhances the architecture on each project. Examples of this include the Body Zone inside the Millennium Dome, the English Institute of Sports at the University of Bath, Lee Valley Regional Athletics centre in Picketts Lock, London and the ongoing redevelopment on Ealing Studios.

As well as commercial work Andrew has also spent a year as a lecturer in the School of Civil Engineering at Kingston University, lecturing on undergrad and postgrad courses.
