Philip Dalglish

Born 1960. During his career, Phil has gained a wide appreciation of building services engineering design and project management for large-scale and complex developments. Phil's career began in his native New Zealand, where he gained a degree in engineering from Canterbury University. After working as a graduate engineer for a local firm, Phil turned his attention to opportunities abroad and embarked on a period of overseas travel. He worked in Australia, the UK and the Middle East on a wide range of projects that included corporate and speculative offices, retail centres, hospitals and residential/hotel developments.
Having joined Buro Happold in 1998, Phil has been responsible for the company's multi-disciplinary contribution to many projects across the Middle East. His business acumen and wealth of experience have been evident over the last few years, when he led the Riyadh office through a difficult period in the region.
Phil has good business sense, commands respect from his staff and is held in high regard by clients. He thinks on his feet and believes that good design is worth striving for, even it takes a bit of extra effort. His energy and enthusiasm have made him a popular director and welcome addition, he became a Principal in May 2003.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, Phil's interest in building services led to him undertaking further study at Brunel University, London.
