Peter Moseley
BSc CEng FCIBSE MInstE MIFireE FFB

Born 1956. Studied building services at Bath University, later returning as research officer investigating the development of energy and environmental controls for flexible structures. Peter joined Buro Happold in 1982, becoming a Principal in 1992. A Chartered Engineer and Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers, he is also a Member of the Institute of Energy, Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers and Fellow of the Faculty of Building Services.

Peter Moseley designs the internal environment of buildings. Happiest when starting work on a building with a blank sheet of paper and no pre-set ideas, he believes that there must be a reason for every detail included on the job. His goal is to create solutions appropriate to client needs. It truly satisfies him to trace the development of a building from vision though ideas to outline and then detailed design. Looking at the finished product, he enjoys understanding the skills, thought, hard work and innovation that went into making it both tangible and visible. On a personal level, his uncanny perception eases the developments of projects and smoothes the process for everyone. "It's a people business," he says, quietly, convincingly. "We enjoy what we do."

Most recently, Peter has jointly led the development of the specialist Consulting group, which offers a range of services from acoustic consulting, fire engineering, inclusive design, and thermal modelling.
