Born 1961. Studied civil and structural engineering at University College Cardiff, Neil first came to Buro Happold in 1986 as a Structural Engineer in our Bath office. He also worked as manager in charge of design in our Riyadh office for two years, before returning to our London office as an associate in 1993. His ability to expand the business of the company and his talented leadership skills were recognized in 2000 when he was made Principal. He is a Member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers.

Neil is a practical engineer, he is most happy when designing and planning for the construction of buildings and this shows through in the structures he is responsible for. His career with Buro Happold has spanned a variety of projects, allowing Neil to find his true specialist area. His ability to cross cultural boundaries with confidence and professionalism means that he is successful in anything he puts his mind and time to, his overseas clients especially respect his willingness to put 110% into their project to achieve an outstanding solution.

One of Neil's finest attributes is his keen ability to recognize the needs of his client, often before they do, his experience enabling him to find achievable solutions, quickly and with the minimum of fuss. This is how Neil has been instrumental in gaining and maintaining the BAA Partnering Agreement for structural engineering, which he has managed with confidence and acumen for 5 years.
