Mike Cook is a creative individual whose heart lies in the structural design of buildings. He is happiest developing an integrated picture of a building along with an architect. Mike enjoys projects that he can follow through from their inception, nurturing a strong working relationship with architects. His emphasis on communication ensures that clients always receive accurate 'storylines' for the engineering work, including clear physical models, high-quality 3-D graphics and diagrams that explain the logical processes behind solutions. Asking Mike to join a design team ensures that everyone stays excited about providing designs of great value. A commanding and sociable presence, Mike inspires young engineers. They love to work with Mike, and he with them, because they realise by his example that engineering, above all, is a thing to enjoy.
Mike was resident engineer for cable net roof of the Tsim Sha Shui Cultural Centre, Hong Kong. In September 2007 he became a visiting professor to Imperial College, London, one of the country's leading educational institutions for Engineering.
