Denzil Gallagher
BEng (Hons) CEng, MCIBSE
Born 1970. Studied building services engineering at the University of Northumbria. Denzil joined Buro Happold in 1993 and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the MEP, sustainability and building analysis teams in New York. Prior to moving to the New York office in 2002, Denzil worked in the practice’s Bath office for four years, followed by two years in Saudi Arabia as part of the Al Faisaliah Site Design team, a brief period in Warsaw and four years in the Glasgow office.
Denzil specialises in environmental engineering and has contributed to award-winning sustainable design projects around the world. These include the Danish National Opera House in Copenhagen, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center in New York, Genzyme Headquarters in Boston, Al Faisaliah development in Riyadh, the Millennium Dome and the Globe Theatre in London.
Denzil is a larger than life character who gives his all for the practice and is highly respected by his clients as a result. An ability to communicate engineering ideas clearly and effectively, together with his commitment to an integrated design approach, means Denzil has added great strength to Buro Happold , becoming a Principal in May 2007.
