David Wookey

Born 1962. Studied accountancy at Exeter University, which included Economics, Law, Accountancy and Statistics. David joined Buro Happold in 1994 as Financial Accountant, becoming Financial Director in 1995. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and holds an MBA. He was made a Principal in 2000.

David has played an instrumental role in the growth of Buro Happold since he first joined the practise. His clear-minded approach identified a need to develop the accountancy function within the company to maximise efficiency, a task he has excelled in. His professionalism and flair for managing financial concerns has helped the company to grow in a controlled and sustainable manner over a period of years as a business. His good humour, innovative thinking and creativity means that he does not always fit the traditional accountant 'mould'. He is indeed a valued asset to the company.
