Born 1969. David studied electrical and electronic engineering at the University of Plymouth. He joined Buro Happold in 1998 as an associate. Progressing rapidly within the practice, soon being promoted to group director in 2001. He became a Principal in May 2005.

David's design philosophy is that successful environmental design is achieved through influencing the architectural language, form, function and fabric of a building to maximise the potential for passive ventilation, temperature control and daylighting solutions. He believes that this philosophy is best delivered through an integrated structural and building services design strategy.
