Andrew Comer
BSc(Hons) CEng FICE FIHT

Born 1955. Studied civil engineering at the City University London. Andrew first came to Buro Happold in 1994 as group manager for the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment group in Bath before taking on the role of director for the London based Infrastructure Group. Andrew advanced to become a Principal in 2000.

Andrew has extensive knowledge in his field and uses it to develop secure relationships with clients and to achieve sustainable engineering responses for the urban environment and more traditional civil engineering projects. This symbiosis is an integral part of the work Andrew and his teams undertake. When considering any part of the built environment, whether it be a regeneration development, waste water systems or transportation networks the emphasis is on the examination of the broader picture to achieve an appropriate solution. This skill of viewing the whole picture, balancing the needs of the client, environment and other involved parties, while achieving the aims of the client is the foundation of many an on-going relationship, that Andrew continues to develop with a great deal of enthusiasm. His expertise in his field is further recognized across the practice providing advice to in house engineers on planning and development issues.
