Margaret Hickish joined Buro Happold’s Glasgow office in 2000. She has over 12 years’ experience in specifying and negotiating access for disabled people in the built environment. She is Vice Chair for the Disability Alliance, and a disability advisor and trustee for IPMS.

Margaret’s responsibilities include policy analysis, carrying out service risk assessments, and providing an access consultancy service for new, existing and historically significant buildings including technical guidance throughout the design process by the provision of technical notes to the design team. She also offers CPD sessions on access to historic and new buildings.

Buro Happold’s Inclusive Design team is well practised in applying the principles of inclusive design in a range of building and urban development projects, from offices, hotels and sports stadia to retail malls and transport interchanges. The team takes into account all potential cultural and community users to provide an inclusive environment suitable for a diversity of user groups.
