Gerry Prodohl
Group Director
Transport and Highways team
Infrastructure Group, Bath

Gerry Prodohl has 26 years experience in the transportation planning and engineering disciplines. He joined Buro Happold’s Bath office in 2006, and has since led the transportation and highways team on a number of high profile projects. He is experienced in working closely with, and providing strategic advice to clients to help them make well informed decisions. Prior to joining Buro Happold, Gerry was Head of Highways Development Control at Gloucestershire County Council. His knowledge of highway authority practices and systems enhances the likelihood of securing quick and cost-effective planning agreements. His background is predominantly in private sector development planning, and includes experience gained in Dublin and Berlin.

Projects worked on include the Jeddah Plan in Saudi Arabia, a project to develop a 20-year vision for the city. Gerry is leading the team in providing strategic transport and planning advice, and managing a series of specific highway and transport projects that will contribute towards the vision. Most recently, Buro Happold has been commissioned to prepare a Saturn traffic model of the city and is advising the Municipality on a mechanism for procuring highway design and maintenance services.

Gerry manages the company’s transportation, traffic and highways input to projects in Ireland, Moscow and the United Arab Emirates, as well as being responsible for services provided to clients in the UK, both directly and through colleagues in other departments. By integrating transportation and highways capabilities in this way, issues of ‘buildability’ and construction cost can be taken into account at an early stage of any project.

Buro Happold’s transport group provides advice and support on all aspects of transportation, from strategic transport plans and site accessibility to road engineering and traffic management. Our engineers have wide experience gained on a variety of large-scale developments and regeneration projects worldwide, and work in close partnership with clients and local authorities to implement practical, economical and sustainable transport solutions.
