Alan Travers, a chartered civil engineer with over 25 years experience in flood defence and associated projects, joined Buro Happold eight years ago. Alan is currently Technical Director for Buro Happold’s Infrastructure and Environment group in the Bath office, specialising in rivers and coasts.

Since joining Buro Happold, Alan has worked on a wide range of projects including the Comprehensive Development plan for Wadi Hanifah in Saudi Arabia, the refurbishment of Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford and the Lower Lea Valley Olympic and Legacy Masterplans.

Buro Happold’s water team offers advice on, and monitors, all water-related issues from the outset of a project, providing a full range of technical and management services from analytical modelling and in-channel design to strategic planning and construction supervision.
