Buro Happold will once again be a major presence at the world renowned event, Mipim which focused on the International Property Market for industry professionals.
MIPIM provides a unique opportunity for industry decision-makers to meet, develop long-term relationships and showcase their latest development projects and therefore is the ideal event for Buro Happold to showcase our capabilities and expertise.
And Mipim is proving ever popular; the number of delegates attending has grown by 43% over the last two years to hit an all-time record in 2007, when 26,210 property executives travelled to Cannes with the numbers forecast to increase yet again this year.
This year Buro Happold is one of the sponsors for the Architectural Review’s Building Performance awards which celebrate and showcase the best performing occupied commercial buildings, completed between 18 and 48 months ago. There are five award categories; Sustainability, Productivity, Place-making, Financial Performance and Client Satisfaction.
Buro Happold is sponsoring the Place-making award which looks at the evidence/ commentary from local authorities, community groups, development agency or other area stakeholders regarding the contribution of the building to its surroundings, as well as details of footfall, changing patterns of use, public transport and vandalism.
This year’s winner is Cooper Cromar Architects for the City Park, Glasgow, with Meinhard Von Gerkan commended for Berlin Central Station. This award supports projects which are closely aligned to the Buro Happold ethos of designing elegant, bold and sustainable engineering solutions for today’s build environment. This will be reflected in Buro Happold’s display which will tie in one of the major topics for this year’s event - ‘Green Themes’, featuring information and images of a range of our most interesting and innovative projects, and manned by the consultancy’s engineers from all regions.
As sponsors, Buro Happold will be located on the London stand (RSV02) and will present Cooper Cromar Architects with their award from the Building Performance stand at 3pm on Thursday 13 March.
The Buro Happold profile will be further raised through our ‘taxi’ scheme: getting around at Mipim is always a little fraught due to the sheer volume of delegates that attend. To make life a little easier our representatives will be handing out tickets to key clients for the Buro Happold branded taxi which will pick up and drop them off at designated points in Cannes – Buro Happold definitely does go the extra mile!
Mipim is an excellent opportunity to meet with key potential clients as well as ensuring the consultancy maintains a high profile alongside those of our major competitors.
Mipim runs from 11 – 14 March.
