Appointment of Jane Boyle shows commitment to broader range of services
International multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy Buro Happold has appointed Jane Boyle to its Sustainability and Alternative Technologies (SAT) team in Glasgow.
With a holistic approach to their work, the team’s remit is to deliver environmentally sustainable solutions that reduce carbon emissions, by harnessing low and zero carbon (LZC) energy sources, including renewables and combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
A welcome addition to a fast-growing team
Having worked in the built environment for over twelve years, Jane is a welcome addition to the fast-growing team as her skill-base and experience will help to enhance their capacity and capabilities. She has extensive experience in sustainably-led building development and design, 3D modelling, simulation, passive design and environmental assessments.
“I am looking forward to involvement in a variety of projects with Buro Happold,” said Jane. “Although I have worked on many sustainably-led developments in the past, this is the first time I will be part of a dedicated team, with such specialist knowledge. I’m very excited by the challenges I’ll be facing in my new role.”

Her addition to the team also shows Buro Happold’s commitment to providing a broader range of services in the region, as she will be involved in masterplanning and environmental planning projects, also working closely with an expanding infrastructure team.
The SAT team is currently contributing to masterplans for various projects in Scotland including sustainable housing and mixed-use developments, as well as sustainable energy strategies. They are also working with Buro Happold’s engineering teams in Glasgow and Denmark on a new Children’s Discovery Centre in Syria and associated public realm works, including specific considerations relating to energy, materials and water resources.
“Buro Happold is at the leading edge of sustainable, low-energy design for the built environment, and we are delighted to welcome Jane to the team,” said senior SAT consultant Allan Stirling. “Within SAT we offer expert strategic advice on energy planning and policy, regulatory requirements, energy procurement, alternative energy options and meeting sustainability targets. Our expertise also covers masterplanning, environmental impact assessments and water conservation strategies, and Jane will certainly add value to our client offering.”
