Practice honoured at annual health and safety awards
Buro Happold has won the prestigious RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Occupational Health and Safety Gold Award, for the 6th year running, this week. The RoSPA Awards are given to organisations that can demonstrate high-quality health and safety management plans.
It will be presented at a ceremony at the NEC’s Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel on Wednesday 14th May, running alongside Safety and Health Expo 2008; Europe’s leading health and safety at work exhibition.
David Rawlins, RoSPA Awards Manager, said: “Buro Happold has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. We hope other businesses and organisations will follow its lead and strive for continuous improvement in health and safety management.”
For Buro Happold, the award scheme reinforces the practice’s dedication to achieving high levels of health and safety, and putting in place excellent management systems for it.
“It is a great achievement to be presented with the RoSPA Gold award once again,” said Paul Crossland, Buro Happold’s Safety and Business Continuity Manager. “This is the sixth year running that we have achieved it, showing an ongoing commitment to safety in the workplace. We still have work to do, though, and we are looking to implement a number of new training initiatives and support services for all staff during 2008, to make sure that health and safety informs everyone’s decision making at all levels of the business.”
