Jonathan Narro joins the Edinburgh office
Jonathan Narro, a member of the winning team in the steel bridge category of this year’s Corus Undergraduate Design Awards, has joined the Edinburgh office of multi-disciplinary consulting engineer Buro Happold.
Jonny completed a summer placement at the Glasgow and Edinburgh Buro Happold offices in 2006 and, having recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a MEng degree in Civil Engineering, will be joining the structures team within the practice on a permanent basis.
Jonny said: “I’m really pleased to have become part of the team at Buro Happold. It’s a brilliant opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a newly formed and energetic office.”
Jonny and his fellow team mates entered the competition during their final year at university. They scooped 1st prize out of the 12 teams in the national final for their design of a compression arch steel railway bridge crossing a major river.
The winners were announced at a ceremony held at Arsenal FC’s Buro Happold-engineered Emirates Stadium on 13 July. Runner up in the bridges category was the team from the University of Southampton, and third place was awarded to the University of Bristol.
