Building Talks

Buro Happold launches Building Talks for students

Architecture and engineering students and graduates invited to attend the Happold Trust talks

The Happold Trust has set up a series of talks, running throughout the year, to give architecture and engineering students and graduates the chance to hear and discuss the complexities of planning and building with industry experts. The discussions will also look at the benefit of holistic and interdisciplinary interaction at an early stage, illustrated through successful examples.

The talks will take the form of a discussion between an architect and at least one other person involved in the building process such as an engineer or urban planer, politician, historian or scientist, with a third invited guest chairing the discussion. The audience will be encouraged to take part and join in the discussions.

The subject matter for the first talk which will take place on the 8th November at 6pm is the Development of Forms. Buro Happold’s Wolf Mangelsdorf and Sven Fuchs from Graft architects will lead the discussions at the Technical University in Berlin in Raum A 151.

Further talks will take place in February and June on Masterplanning / Transport (Olympic park) and Sustainability respectively.  Location and dates will be confirmed at a later date.
