New City Centre development, planning permission granted
Leeds City Council has given planning consent for a new £43million (capital cost) development in the heart of Leeds’ financial district, City Square.
City Square House, which has been designed by architects DLA Architecture for AWG Developments Ltd, will be a new build consisting of 156,00 sq.ft. The 10 storey office accommodation provides a two-storey basement, with provision for basement car parking.
The existing building, the former AXA Building, is currently being soft stripped and hard demolition is due to commence shortly. The building will have a central atrium and service core with long-span floor plates to minimise internal columns. The structure and building services are integrated to minimise floor zones
The Leeds office of consulting engineers Buro Happold is to provide the Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Ground Engineering and Fire Engineering (FEDRA).
