Buro Happold Ground Engineering launches dedicated North of England service
Buro Happold Ground Engineering has launched a dedicated service to the north of England, currently based in the practice’s Leeds and Manchester offices. The service is led by northern area manager Hakop Mirzabaigian BSc, PhD, BA, CEng, MICE.
Buro Happold Ground Engineering provides northern access to specialist geo-environmental expertise for projects with a northern focus. Buro Happold Ground Engineering is already an established contributor to landmark projects in the north of England, including the Royal Armouries and Clarence Dock in Leeds, the Lowry Centre and Lowry Hotel in Manchester and the Old Hall Street Development in Liverpool.
Senior partner John Morrison comments, ‘Ground engineering is a definite growth area, and our team skills reflect a wide degree of experience, allowing us to tackle complex issues including remediation, contaminated land, waterside structures and confined urban sites. Hakop Mirzabaigian’s appointment is a direct result of increased interest in our specialist expertise in the north of England. We are working closely with many initiatives that take forward the regeneration of some specific areas within our city centres. We have a clear focus for this level of strategic ground engineering work, providing an understanding of how to approach the complex site conditions that frequently exist on brownfield urban sites.’
Buro Happold Ground Engineering is based in the multi disciplinary Leeds and Manchester offices of Buro Happold, working alongside established structural, building services, fire and computational analysis design teams.
