Buro Happold establishes Access Consultancy in Scotland

Buro Happold Access has established an Access Consultancy in Scotland, based in its Glasgow office. The team is to be led by Margaret Hickish, who joins Buro Happold from The Adapt Trust. An acknowledged expert in issues surrounding creating an inclusively designed, accessible environment, Margaret has joined Buro Happold in order to bring her vast experience and knowledge of access issues within the Arts field to work on a wider range of public buildings and to work directly within the design team in the planning and designing of buildings.

Rod Manson, Partner, who heads the multidisciplinary consultancy teams based in the Glasgow Office, comments: “Buro Happold's seven strong Access Consultancy is already acting as Access Consultant to the Scottish Parliament Building. With a permanent access team in Scotland, we will be able to bring hands on expertise to the planning of buildings that can be easily used by all.”

Buro Happold Access provide a wide range of services such as PFI bid support, Access Auditing, Access Design, Evacuation Planning, working on a range of buildings including Schools, Hospitals, Major Stadia, Sports facilities, Museums, Theatres and Universities. By early inclusion within the design team major cost savings can be made.
