A lecture on the mechanical and electrical engineering of the Millennium Dome will be given by Ken Carmichael of Buro Happld at the Institution of Electrical Engineers in London on 9 December. The presentation will describe the challenges of the engineering design and construction of an elegant and spectacular tensile structure to enclose a flexible, fully serviced, large-scale exhibition and entertainment experience that will provide a legacy for years to come. A Christmas Dinner held in the Institution's Riverside Dining Room follows the lecture. Early booking is advised.
